Planning a trip to the Białowieża Forest? Below is a list of attractions in Białowieża, Hajnówka and the surrounding area. After a day on the trail, we invite you for pizza at Siciliana – in Białowieża (ul. Stoczek 22) or Hajnówka (ul. Górna 17).
Must-see in the Białowieża Forest
1. European Bison Show Reserve
The most reliable place to see bison up close (and other Forest animals). It lies on the Hajnówka–Białowieża road, about 3 km before Białowieża. Entry via the education pavilion. Current hours and tickets: bpn.gov.pl.
2. Białowieża National Park Nature and Forest Museum
A multimedia exhibition about the Forest, history and nature of the Park. The permanent exhibition is visited in groups – check opening hours before your visit on the BNP website.
3. Strict protection area (with a guide)
The most valuable part of the Forest – entry only with an authorised guide; places can be limited. Book in advance through offices / organisers indicated by the Park.
4. Palace Park in Białowieża
A historic park in the centre of Białowieża – a walk among the trees, a good base for the start or end of a sightseeing day.
5. Walking and cycling trails
The Forest has hundreds of kilometres of paths. Popular routes lead, among others, towards clearings and villages such as Teremiski, Pogorzelce or Budy. Maps and up-to-date information: tourist information points and bpn.gov.pl.
6. Viewing tower / viewpoints (seasonal)
Viewpoints over clearings and the forest landscape are sometimes available nearby – ask locally which places are currently open (the offer is often seasonal).
7. Tsar’s manor and Białowieża heritage
Białowieża is not only the forest – it is worth seeing buildings linked to the history of tsarist hunts and local wooden architecture along the main streets.

8. Białowieża bicycle draisines
A ride on a historic railway line powered by your own muscles – start and finish at Białowieża Towarowa station. Routes of different lengths (including an easy one towards the Palace, longer ones deeper into the Forest). Reservations usually online: drezynywpuszczy.pl.
9. Narrow-gauge railway Hajnówka – Topiło
Tourist narrow-gauge railway of the Hajnówka Forest District: route about 11 km through the Forest, whole trip with a stop about 3 hours (including about an hour in the Topiło settlement by the water reservoirs). Season usually May–September. Start: near the Hajnówka Forest District (ul. Kolejki Leśne / Kolejki Wąskotorowe). Timetable and tickets: Hajnówka Forest District.
10. Topiło
A former forest settlement and the end station of the narrow-gauge railway – a place for a walk by the water, a rest and Forest atmosphere. The easiest way is by train from Hajnówka (in season) or plan your own transport, checking road access.
11. Siemianówka Reservoir
One of the largest artificial reservoirs in Poland (about 32 km²) north of the Forest – beaches, fishing, water sports and birdwatching. Popular spots: e.g. Stary Dwór and the area of Bondary / Rudnia. A great addition to a Białowieża visit when you want a day by the water.
12. Hajnówka Water Park
A swimming complex at ul. 3 Maja 50 (towards Białowieża): 25 m sports pool, recreation pool, slides, jacuzzi and saunas – a good option in bad weather or a day with children. After the pool, pizza is nearby: Siciliana Hajnówka, ul. Górna 17.
